Is this the right agreement for your representation?

Use this for an adult actor hiring a personal manager for defined career services. It separates management from regulated employment procurement and leaves booking decisions with the actor.

Good fit for

  • An adult actor engaging a personal manager
  • A manager agreeing a defined scope and commission
  • Parties setting limits on exclusivity and post-termination fees

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this appoint a talent agent?
No. It appoints a personal manager and does not authorize employment procurement requiring a license or franchise the manager does not hold. Applicable law and union requirements still apply.
Can the manager sign or accept bookings for the actor?
Not under this agreement alone. The actor retains approval, and separate lawful written authority is required for signing, receiving money, or granting likeness rights.
Does commission apply to every acting job?
No. The engagement must fall within the agreed scope, be signed during the term, and receive the manager's material support at the actor's request. Excluded work and prior contracts are not automatically covered.
What does a zero-month commission tail mean?
No new commission accrues on receipts arriving after representation ends. Commission already earned but unpaid remains due.
What are common warning signs in an actor management agreement?

These are common issues to watch for in any actor management agreement:

  • Calling someone a manager is treated as permission for unlicensed procurement
  • Old contracts are not listed as exclusions
  • Commission is assumed to end when services end
  • A minor's representation is treated as an ordinary adult arrangement
