About this contract

This agreement is for DJs and event purchasers arranging a defined live DJ performance. A DJ booking does not itself clear venue public-performance licensing.

Key points covered in this contract

  • DJ performance: set times, equipment supply, music preferences, and setup access.
  • Payment and cancellation: the booking fee, payment dates, and what happens if the event moves or is cancelled.
  • Permissions and termination: the permissions included and how the engagement can end.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if the event is cancelled or moved to another date?
Moving an event does not automatically move the performer's booking. The performer may be unavailable, and cancellation terms may still apply to the original date. Payments can depend on notice, work already done, committed expenses, and any valid cancellation fee.
What happens if the booked DJ cannot perform?
Possible outcomes include an approved replacement, rescheduling, or a refund. A client who booked a particular DJ may not have agreed to an unknown substitute. A DJ agreement should explain when replacements are allowed and what happens if no suitable replacement is available.
