  • Materials and credit: any notes, plans, equipment, or public credit included in the engagement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does hiring an event specialist make them responsible for all event safety?
No. A specialist can be responsible for safety within their work without controlling the whole event. Venue conditions, crowd management, and other suppliers may remain someone else's responsibility. Legal safety duties can also apply regardless of how the contract divides the work.
Does paying for services transfer ownership of a professional's existing materials?
No. Paying for someone's time does not normally buy their existing tools, teaching methods, or materials. The client may receive permission to use particular notes or plans without owning everything behind them. Ownership transfers require a separate legal basis.
