About this contract

This agreement is for publicists and clients agreeing on a publicity campaign, outreach, and payment. Publicity outreach is not social account management, talent representation, or a promise of coverage.

Key points covered in this contract

  • Services: what work and materials are included.
  • Approvals: who approves changes and expenses.
  • Schedule and payment: schedule, payment timing, and any delivery or retention arrangements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who owns materials created by a publicist?
A client may own commissioned press materials or receive permission to use them, depending on the deal. That does not automatically give the client the publicist's contact lists, methods, or existing tools. Paying for outreach and buying ownership of materials are different things.
Does hiring a publicist guarantee press coverage?
No. Independent editors decide what they publish. A publicist can promise outreach and prepared materials without being able to promise coverage. Paid placements are different from earned publicity and may have separate costs and disclosure requirements.
